Say hello to one of my favorite weddings of the year. Rebecca and John were extremely intentional about the choices they made for their wedding day. They started the day getting ready together in their home in Lincoln’s historic district. They were then wed in Rebecca’s parents backyard, where they served Kurry Xpress for supper and homemade pie from the bride’s family for dessert. One of my favorite moments was of the couple planting a tree after their wedding, in procession to the bride’s sister’s wedding a couple years before where she and her husband also planted a tree in the very same area. There were no formalities or routines during the reception, just a simple celebration surrounded by their family and friends over Labor Day weekend. It was perfect.
