Natalie + Jon // Big Sur California Engagement Photography

Photographing cuddles by the Pacific Ocean...I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday afternoon with these two.  Natalie has such a bubbly, "draws you in" type personality where it's impossible not to absolutely love her.  The way Jon looks at Natalie and cares for her is absolutely endearing, I dare your heart not to melt as you read through their love story and gather a glimpse of their relationship through these images.

How did we meet?

We met at church, he came with his parents to visit their friends. They were totally locked out of the building and kept going to the wrong doors. I saw them struggling with one through the window and let them in, so I basically saved his life the first time I met him. His mom immediately pulled me aside and asked me all about my education and job and told me I was pretty. She insisted I meet her son rather aggressively, the rest is history.

How did we get engaged?

I had been expecting a ring all through the holidays but Jon was dead set on surprising me. We had planned a birthday party for him on Dec. 30 with both of our entire families. Now looking back I don't know how I didn't see this coming. I was in total hostess mode, making cupcakes, preparing his gift, decorating the house for him. When everyone arrived he asked us to pray together before we served dinner and after he prayed he said, "there's one more thing I'd like to do." He got down on one knee in front of everyone and made me the happiest girl ever. I was definitely his best birthday gift ;).

Why am I excited for us to get married?

Gosh, Jon and I have been together for 3 years. We have been through heartbreaking family situations, the chaos of medical school, amazing victories, laughter, and failures. He is my best friend in the world, there is no one I trust, love, enjoy, believe in, or admire more. He has totally changed my life. I'm excited to build a home with him, travel and raise babies, I'm excited for the days we read on the couch with wine and the days we change the world. I just want to do all of it with him.
